IMG_3677_fotorKatherin has been studying childbirth since her first year at Smith College, where she received her BA in Anthropology with a focus in the Anthropology of Reproduction. Katherin has over a decade of extensive childcare experience, worked as a birth doula in Ecuador and Massachusetts, and spent a summer as a traditional midwife’s apprentice in Guatemala.

Her passion for emotional support of expecting and new parents brought her to Isis Parenting in June of 2010, where she worked as an assistant center manager and a staff trainer. Her natural gift with moms and babies drew her into the field of postpartum support as a doula and Isis facilitator of new moms groups. Her teaching style is warm, upbeat, and positive, and informed by her cross-cultural and evolutionary studies of childbirth and parenting.
